Hamburger Seasoning

I don't know about you all but going out of the house right now to get a burger sounds like a drag. #COVIDSTINKS As a celiac, we always run the risk of cross contamination or the dreaded wrong order where they include a damn bun and we have to go inside to explain to them why we need them to remake a whole new patty. The looks when an order is wrong or just general annoyance of our very detailed orders, caused me to really think this through.... why can't we just make it at home ourselves?! You can pre-make your patties and freeze them whether it's a plant based burger, ground turkey, ground chicken, or ground beef and season them like I do! I hope you enjoy my go-to routine!
What you will need is either frozen or fresh patties. You will then want to get a pastry brush and brush your favorite BBQ sauce on one side and sprinkle some of this seasoning mix. Turn the patty over and repeat. You want to do this on both sides. And that's it! Cook it as you usually would and then you will know what you prefer later. Maybe you prefer a little more/less BBQ sauce, and same with the seasoning. It's really how you like it and you can adjust accordingly.
My BBQ sauce of choice has always been sweet baby rays or a homemade version if there is time.
This seasoning can be made ahead of time and can be kept in a sealed container. You can double or triple this if your container is larger to just have a large supply handy. Enjoy my friends.
Hamburger patty seasoning mix
2 tablespoons of salt
2 tablespoons of paprika
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons of black pepper
2 1/2 teaspoons of onion powder
2 1/2 teaspoons of garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoons of finely ground dried basil (if your dried basil is a little chunky, just grind it down more in a mortar and pestle or just put it in the palm of your hand, put your other hand over, and grind it between the palms of your hands. This works just as well)
