Melly Belly Flour Blend

As I began my blogging journey, I honestly was winging it. I used this this a a distraction and I can honestly say it has helped! 2020 was hellish, and 2021... although I see a light, I have still been struggling.

I always read meme's about the hilariousness of food blogs. Rummaging through a diary entry just to get to a damn recipe. I know, I know.... but honestly it is what it is. Each recipe is a journey. It takes time, energy, and memories to build, test, and create. And as such, we invite you on that journey with us before we share what all of our effort has gone into.

When I first began, one of my first posts was my zucchini bread recipe in which I placed my blend of flour that I use. I figured a singular post just for the blend would probably be better and easier to find.

I like many, would just buy my blend of flour from the store. Paying $14+ for a smallish bag of pre-mixed 1:1 GF flour. The convenience was great but then I still wondered, was it safe? Are additional ingredients added that didn't need to be? So I slowly started researching weight to cup measurements for different types of flours, as well as textures, tastes, and much more.

Named after my daughter, who is one of my #1 fans and taste testers, I created what I knew would work for me. This blend makes roughly 9 cups of flour in one batch. Each cup of this MB Flour Blend should weigh out as 4.8 oz. I ALWAYS measure my flours on a scale when I create this recipe blend and when I make any recipes on my blog. Should you wish to try the recipes with your own blend, go for it, and please comment to tell me about how it went.

Weigh out each item below and either place it in a large bowl to thoroughly mix, or use a storage container for cereals that is tight on the lid so you can mix it up really well. Each time before I use it, I give it another good mix or shake. Keep in an airtight container in your pantry or in your fridge to keep it nice and fresh if you don't bake that often.

Enjoy!
