Detox Shots

With celiac, we all have moments when we feel "blegh". For me, although I try to keep on top of all my vitamins, and routines to boost my immunity, sometimes I give myself a little something extra. This is what I do to create my detox shots. These shots are filled with great stuff to cleanse the body, soul, and liver! You can choose to store it all in one big container and then pour it into a little shot glass for your daily dose or pour it into individual jars the way I do:


Detox Shots

  • 5 lemons

  • 4-5 beets (I get the pack from Trader Joe's)

  • 12 oz pack of organic baby carrots from Trader Joe's

  • 2 Fuji apples

  • 3 oz of ginger

  • 2 Tb turmeric


Start by prepping. Wash all your fruit and veg. Depending on the juicer, you have you may need to peel and slice some of your veggies and fruit. I have a smaller compact juicer that I got on Amazon so I tend to peel my lemons, apples, and beets and cut them up into chunks. For my ginger, I get a spoon and scrape the skin a little to remove some peel, then break it up in pieces.


Get a 4 cup Pyrex or container and place 2 Tb of turmeric. Start juicing all your items and let the juice combine with the turmeric so it absorbs better. Once finished, get a whisk and mix vigorously. Either store in a container to slowly drink a shot once a day or get little glass ones like my picture below. Make sure to shake it up before you drink.


If you don't have a juicer just use a blender. Once blended up as much as you can, drain the juice through a strainer to remove all the pulp.


It will make about 12-14 shots like these. Store in fridge so you have a nice refreshing moment. The ginger and turmeric will be strong but the burn is good, trust me. Enjoy!!
